After months of research and design, I’m thrilled to share Lunnie’s new branding! I had the opportunity to work with the exceptionally talented graphic designer Rebecca Barney, owner of Barney Design. She is a mom of three, currently breastfeeding, and an early member of the Lunnie Hive. From my first conversation with Rebecca, I knew she was the perfect fit to bring my vision to life.
Lunnie’s branding is a project I’ve been itching to do for months. When I had the idea for Lunnie in January, I quickly created a website and social media channels just to get something out there. The branding was the result of my limited and haphazard Canva skills. As a marketer, it was driving me nuts not having a cohesive look but my time was invested in conducting consumer research, developing a prototype, and selecting a manufacturer. Once my bra was with a manufacturer, it gave me the space to define and hone in on Lunnie’s brand.
My aesthetic for Lunnie matches the nursing product itself: Modern, feminine, everyday luxury, elevated yet approachable. Rebecca came up with several iterations of logo options and thanks to invaluable input from the Lunnie Hive, we nailed the perfect logo. If the two letter “n”s resemble two breasts, you caught on to us!
We also updated the tagline to “Pretty and powerful postpartum” to better convey our mission and products. We believe nothing is prettier and more powerful than a mother–and she deserves to feel that way inside and out. By creating innovative products and a supportive community-led brand, we are enabling moms to feel their best.
The honeycomb icon
Our color palette is a soothing combination of pinks and neutrals. Our new fonts have a stylized yet familiar look. Both have a nod to a traditional feminine aesthetic but with a modern sensibility.
Our supporting graphic icon of honeycomb represents the Lunnie Hive. Without this community, our brand and products simply would not exist. Thank you to all those who gave their input, time, and expertise in shaping Lunnie. It truly took a village–or in this case, hive!
Now, back to product development. Stay tuned!
